KDE Linux, an atomically updated Linux distribution showcasing KDE Plasma, encountered a serious bug in systemd 260 where update transfers could be skipped, causing systems to attempt booting non-existent OS images. A secondary bug in the rollback/fallback code compounded the issue. In response, KDE Linux developers have hardened their atomic update mechanism against such failures. The March 2026 update also covers other systemd 260 bugs discovered, improved ZRAM configuration, pre-installed USBMUXD for Apple iOS device support, optical disk image mounting, and various other fixes.
