Kagi has launched iOS and Android apps for its 'Small Web' initiative, a curated index of over 30,000 non-commercial, human-authored websites including personal blogs, webcomics, and independent videos. Originally launched in 2023, the initiative aims to surface indie web content that is increasingly hard to find amid AI-generated material and corporate-dominated platforms. The new apps and browser extensions add category filtering, distraction-free reading, and the ability to save favorite sites. Some users have raised concerns that the RSS-feed requirement excludes experimental sites, and that AI-written content may have slipped into the index.
