OpenChoreo is an open-source Internal Developer Platform (IDP) built on Kubernetes, developed by WSO2 as the successor to WSO2 Choreo. It combines a Backstage-powered developer portal, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, and multi-tenancy into a modular, multi-plane architecture. Unlike platforms that hide Kubernetes, OpenChoreo augments it with programmable abstractions and golden paths while keeping infrastructure visible. It includes built-in AI agents for SRE, cost control, and architecture, and supports integration with external tools via a module catalog. Teams can deploy it as-is or customize it to fit their internal platform vision.
