The Python Security Response Team (PSRT) has recently solidified its governance by adopting PEP 811, which outlines public member lists, defined responsibilities, and a structured onboarding process. In an effort to expand its capabilities, the PSRT has welcomed Jacob Coffee as the first new non-Release Manager member since 2023.
Throughout the past year, the team has been active in publishing 16 vulnerability advisories and has effectively coordinated with project maintainers and other stakeholders to address and remediate security concerns in Python. The PSRT is currently seeking individuals with proven security expertise who are well-regarded within the Python community to join their efforts. These new members will be instrumental in managing vulnerability reports and facilitating the remediation processes for key Python projects, including CPython and pip.
The PSRT’s commitment to strengthening Python’s security infrastructure while welcoming new talents opens the door for skilled professionals to contribute significantly to the safety and robustness of Python software globally.
