The Kotlin Foundation is launching a pilot mentorship program pairing experienced open-source maintainers with new contributors to help them make their first meaningful contributions to Kotlin projects. Running from mid-February to early April 2026, the program expects mentors to spend 30-60 minutes weekly and mentees 2-4 hours weekly. Successful pairs with merged contributions receive Kotlin-branded merchandise, and one randomly selected pair wins a trip to KotlinConf 2026. Applications are open for both mentors (who must be Kotlin project maintainers) and mentees through separate surveys.
