Make WordPress Core

The WordPress Core team is hosting a Contributor Day at WordCamp Asia 2026 on April 9 in Mumbai (and online), coinciding with the WordPress 7.0 release. Contributors are encouraged to prepare their local development environments in advance (Docker, Node.js, Composer, wordpress-develop repo). The day will include final release activities for WordPress 7.0, Gutenberg editor work, testing, documentation, performance, accessibility, and AI exploration. Both new and experienced contributors are welcome, with mentorship opportunities available. Work started may land in WordPress 7.1 or later. Regular New Core Contributor Meetings continue on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays monthly.
