JobRunr has released ClawRunr, an open-source Java AI agent (formerly JavaClaw) that runs on users' own hardware and handles scheduled, recurring, and one-off background tasks. Built on Java 25, Spring Boot, Spring AI, Spring Modulith, and JobRunr, it supports OpenAI, Anthropic, and Ollama as LLM providers. Key features include MCP tool integration, browser automation via Playwright, multi-channel interaction (web chat, Telegram, Discord), file-based skill extension, and a dynamic tool discovery mode using Lucene keyword search. Task state is persisted as Markdown files, with JobRunr managing retries, scheduling, and monitoring. The project is released under the LGPL-3.0 license.
