JEP 479 aims to remove the Windows 32-bit x86 port from the JDK, simplifying the build and test infrastructure. The motivation behind this is to accelerate the development of new features and enhancements. It is not a goal to remove or change 32-bit support for any platforms other than Windows, and support for Windows 32-bit in previous releases will not be removed or changed.
