Java 26 is releasing on March 17th with four major new features: JEP 500 warns on final field modification via deep reflection, JEP 516 adds AOT Object caching for ZGC users, JEP 517 introduces HTTP/3 support to the HTTP client, and JEP 522 improves G1 GC throughput. The Applet API is being removed. Five preview/incubator features include PEM Encodings (JEP 524), Structured Concurrency with a new onTimeout method (JEP 525), Lazy Constants renamed from Stable Values (JEP 526), Primitive Types in Patterns fourth preview (JEP 530), and the Vector API re-incubated for the eleventh time (JEP 529).
