A new Netbox plugin called netbox-plugin-bind-provisioner enables zone transfers (AXFR) directly from Netbox DNS by implementing a small DNS server within Netbox. The plugin supports TSIG authentication, multiple DNS views, and Catalog Zones (RFC 9432) for automated DNS server provisioning. Configuration involves setting up TSIG keys and specifying views, after which compliant DNS clients can transfer zones on TCP port 5354. The plugin works alongside the existing netbox-plugin-dns and may eventually integrate Catalog Zone support natively.
