Time saved by AI offset by new work created, study suggests
A study on the Danish labor market reveals that generative AI tools like ChatGPT have not significantly impacted wages or employment yet, despite rapid adoption. The study, conducted by economists from the University of Chicago and the University of Copenhagen, analyzed data from 25,000 workers and concluded that while AI tools saved time for many, they also created new tasks for 8.4% of workers, offsetting potential benefits.
