Your lack of GitHub contributions does not necessarily indicate that you aren't good at coding, but it can be a wasted opportunity to confirm that you're passionate and good. To help change this, here are four ideas to contribute more to GitHub. There are many ways to contribute like forking a repo, making a pull request, reviewing code, etc.

Is your GitHub empty?

I’m not sure some of these pratices are really good :-/
Yes, you will have a Github Chart full with at least one commit per weekday. But is that the real goal? If I was a recruiter seeing this kind of chart during an interview, the first question I will ask is something like:
“That’s a good chart. With all this activity, I guess contribute actively to a project for your own or a community. On which project to you contribute and what do you do on it?”
If the dev answer that he has is dairy on Github and he open issues, I will think he don’t really work on Github…
Nevertheless, other tips like commiting as soon as you have a working feature and splitting your commits in small ones to make them easy to read is a good practice which fills your Github chart and make your project cleaner and better for you and, if there is one, for the project community.

GitHub is very close to being a replacement for a lot of social media requirements. I love it because I can social media with people I actually share interests with :)

Not sure I like the idea proposed here of essentially having to “maintain” your github as if it’s a social media presence.  Not to say that Github isn’t a form of social media for some people; what I’m against is the idea that we should “maintain” any social media at all. Github is foremost a tool, and I don’t find stat boosting my commits/issues holds any intrinsic value. Is there really a “game” that needs to be played here?

Yes it is, what are we supposed to do?
Grind leetcode? Studying system design? Reading books? Build projects? Do actual work on our jobs?
Does anyone care about my crypto tracker or whatever toy project I have for applying my new knowledge?
