SASS/SCSS was great at the time but now that browser support exists for variables it’s lost its ultimate purpose for existing.
I lost my temper with it when they decided that you needed to start importing “math” at the top of your SCSS files to do simple calculations with variables, e.g $gap/2 - it was just a flare going off to say we’re overcomplicating this for no reason and finally prompted me to get on with changing my setup to use variables and newer features like calc.
But for a while there it was fantastic, though I came up when internet explorer 6 was the most used browser!
