IonQ has completed its acquisition of Skyloom Global, a company specializing in free-space optical and secure communications technology. The acquisition strengthens IonQ's quantum networking capabilities, particularly in quantum key distribution and distributed quantum entanglement. Skyloom's lightwave-optics expertise and optical terminals will support IonQ's work with government, defense, and aerospace customers. This follows IonQ's recent acquisitions of Capella Space, Lightsynq, ID Quantique, and Vector Atomic as part of its strategy to build comprehensive quantum-secure communications platforms.
