Pine64 has officially introduced the PineTime Pro, a more powerful open smartwatch announced at FOSDEM 2026. Unlike the original PineTime, the Pro is not a replacement but a more capable sibling featuring a dual-core Cortex-M33 SoC running at up to 200 MHz, 800 KB SRAM plus 8 MB PSRAM, a 410×502 AMOLED display, GPS, heart rate and blood oxygen sensors, a 6D IMU, microphone, speaker, and Bluetooth 5.2. Development has been ongoing since at least 2024, with earlier RISC-V prototypes abandoned due to power and SDK issues. Hardware prototypes have faced issues with SWD ports and flash memory, with a third revision expected in April 2026. InfiniTime and WaspOS developers are already involved in software bring-up, and all SDK and documentation will be made available to the community once the device enters production.
