The VS Code Agents window (Preview) is a dedicated window in VS Code, built for an agent-first workflow. 

It's the natural complement to the VS Code editor window: the editor window is optimized for code-centric work in a single workspace, while the Agents window is optimized for orchestrating higher-level tasks across projects, with chat and the sessions list as the primary interface. In this video, we'll explore how to get started with the Agents window.

Microsoft is previewing a new VS Code Agents Window designed for managing multiple AI coding agents across projects, workspaces, and machines from a single interface. The window lets developers run parallel agent sessions with isolated work trees, monitor session status, provide inline feedback on diffs, and orchestrate agents via GitHub Copilot CLI or Cloud agent harnesses. It integrates GitHub MCP for customization, supports SSH and dev tunnels for remote machines, and allows reviewing, merging, or sharing agent-generated changes as pull requests. The experience is accessible from VS Code desktop, web, and mobile.
