Google has announced the 185 mentoring organizations selected for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026. Prospective contributors aged 18+ who are students or have less than 2 years of open source experience can apply starting March 16th at 1800 UTC, with a deadline of March 31st. Accepted contributors will be announced April 30th, and coding begins May 25th. Applicants are encouraged to browse organization pages, review project ideas, reach out to organizations early, and be aware that some organizations prohibit AI-generated proposals.
