RavenDB launched a Kubernetes Operator to replace Helm charts for database orchestration. The operator uses a declarative model with custom resource definitions to automate cluster formation, storage binding, and networking. It handles Day 2 operations including rolling upgrades with validation gates, certificate rotation for Let's Encrypt and private PKI, and real-time health monitoring via kubectl. Teams can upgrade RavenDB versions without downtime as the operator manages the rolling deployment automatically.
