Qt has released a GUI Design Skill for AI agents that encodes UX design principles into agentic workflows, helping UI developers without access to a UX designer produce better interfaces. The skill guides AI agents through a structured six-step process: an intake questionnaire, application of 18 named UX laws (Hick's Law, Miller's Law, etc.), embedded device constraints (touch targets, fixed-pixel layouts, GPU limitations), WCAG 2.1 accessibility checks, AI usability guidelines, and a structured design audit mode. A side-by-side comparison of a gym stepper machine UI shows measurable improvements in touch target sizing, color accessibility, and information hierarchy when the skill is active. The skill is available as part of the Qt agent skills plugin on GitHub and the Claude Marketplace, and integrates with GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Codex via Qt Creator 20.
