openESM is a new open-source database that aggregates and harmonizes experience sampling datasets collected via mobile devices. The database currently contains 60 datasets with over 16,000 participants and 740,000 observations. Researchers can search metadata through the website and download datasets using R or Python packages. The project demonstrates its utility through an analysis showing a strong negative correlation between positive and negative affect across 39 datasets. The initiative aims to facilitate cumulative research by addressing data fragmentation and format inconsistencies.
