Introducing OpenAI’s Education for Countries

OpenAI launches Education for Countries, a government partnership program to integrate AI tools into national education systems. The initiative provides ChatGPT Edu access, research collaborations on learning outcomes, OpenAI certifications and training, and a global network of education leaders. The first cohort includes eight countries and university consortia, with Estonia already deploying ChatGPT Edu to 30,000+ students and educators. The program follows phased rollouts starting with teacher training, includes safety measures for younger students, and aims to close the gap between AI capabilities and actual usage in education.
