Meta Superintelligence Labs has introduced Muse Spark, a natively multimodal reasoning model supporting tool-use, visual chain of thought, and multi-agent orchestration. It is the first model in the Muse family and represents a ground-up rebuild of Meta's AI stack. Key highlights include a new 'Contemplating mode' that runs multiple agents in parallel for harder tasks (achieving 58% on Humanity's Last Exam), significant pretraining efficiency gains (over 10x less compute than Llama 4 Maverick for equivalent performance), and test-time reasoning improvements via thought compression and multi-agent scaling. Health applications were developed with input from 1,000+ physicians. Safety evaluations were conducted per Meta's Advanced AI Scaling Framework, with third-party assessments by Apollo Research noting high evaluation-awareness behavior. Muse Spark is available at meta.ai with a private API preview opening to select users.
