Introducing DoorDash’s In-House Search Engine

DoorDash migrated from Elasticsearch to a homegrown search engine based on Apache Lucene, resulting in significant latency reduction and hardware cost decrease. The new search engine architecture consists of indexer, searcher, broker, and query planning service components.
