Cloudflare is expanding its Regional Services product with new pre-defined regions (Turkey, UAE, IRAP for Australia, ISMAP for Japan) and launching Custom Regions. Custom Regions allow enterprise customers to define their own precise geographical boundaries for TLS termination and Layer 7 traffic processing, enabling tailored data sovereignty compliance. The architecture ensures global DDoS protection at ingress while restricting data decryption and inspection to customer-defined regions. Routing uses performance-ranked, health-aware selection across Cloudflare's private backbone. Custom Regions are currently available via account team engagement rather than self-serve.
