Atlassian has launched a native integration allowing Jira teams to assign work items directly to Cursor, the AI coding tool. A cloud agent picks up the task, works on it, and notifies the team in Jira when input is needed or a pull request is ready. The integration leverages Atlassian's Teamwork Graph to give agents rich context including issues, Confluence specs, dependencies, and decisions. Engineers can also update Jira work items directly from Cursor via the Teamwork Graph CLI or Rovo MCP server. Internal testing showed agents using Teamwork Graph context achieved 44% better answer quality and used 48% fewer tokens. The feature is available now with every paid Jira subscription.
