Elastic has launched a technical preview of cross-project search (CPS) for Elastic Cloud Serverless, allowing organizations to query data across multiple isolated Elastic projects from a single origin project without moving data or incurring egress fees. Setup involves linking projects via the cloud console, after which searches span all linked projects by default. Scope can be narrowed using ES|QL project_routing expressions, Kibana space-level defaults, or the project picker UI. Unified Elastic Cloud API keys enable programmatic cross-project access without complex credential management. Pricing during tech preview is free for observability and security tiers; GA pricing will charge per GB of retained data in linked projects plus data transfer fees.
