A few months ago at this year’s Gradle Summit conference, we announced a new part of the Gradle platform called Gradle Cloud Services. In this post, I want to introduce you to the first of these services—the Gradle Build Scan Service—and the build scans it makes possible.

Gradle introduces Build Scans, a new service that captures data from your build runs and transforms it into shareable, actionable information. The Build Scan Plugin sends build data to the Gradle Build Scan Service, producing a link you can share for troubleshooting, collaboration, or performance optimization—eliminating the need to manually copy error messages or environment details. Open source projects like Hibernate and JUnit 5 have already adopted build scans. Getting started involves enabling the plugin on existing projects or cloning a quickstart repository.
