<p>I haven’t been posting here at all lately. Was a bit fed up with social media, but the primary reason was this:
I’ve been building a platform for book readers.</p>
<h3>❓ What is it?</h3>
<p><a href="http://bookshelfed.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">bookshelfed.com</a> is a platform where you can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Search books</li>
<li>Create bookshelves and add books there</li>
<li>Track your reads</li>
<li>Share your profile with others (like MAL)</li>
<li>Control privacy - hide any private reads from public view</li>
<li>Get official sources to purchase a book (hardcover, ebook, or audiobook)</li>
</ul>
<p>All in one place. It’s a better Goodreads alternative with no ads or bad usage of AI that hinders user experience and it’ll always be that way.</p>
<h3>⚙️ For the tech folks</h3>
<ul>
<li>Backend: Go</li>
<li>Frontend: React (with instant updates via React Query)</li>
<li>Book data: Not from any 3rd-party source (since none are reliable). I’ve worked hard to collect and clean a dataset of over 50M+ books.
So there’s no limit, everything’s local and stays under bookshelfed.</li>

Built with Go backend and React frontend, it features a custom dataset of 50M+ books without relying on third-party APIs.
