Akka has launched Akka Specify, a new feature enabling spec-driven development (SDD) for building agentic AI systems without manual coding or an IDE. It integrates with popular AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI, and Codex via slash commands. The workflow follows a structured loop: specify requirements, clarify gaps, plan implementation, generate tasks, and implement code. Akka extends this with utilities for local builds, testing, cluster execution, security scans, and deployment to Akka Automated Operations. The tool is based on the spec-kit SDD framework and aims to reduce the journey from idea to production to hours.
