Intel software engineer Ankit Nautiyal has posted new kernel graphics driver patches for Linux to enable Adaptive Sync SDP (Secondary Data Packet) handling for Panel Replay and Auxless Adaptive Link Power Management (ALPM) modes. The patch series, now out for review, includes fixes to existing AS SDP enablement, new DPCD bit support, AS SDP version and VRR-specific bits, and transmission timing improvements. Notably, the patches confirm that Variable Refresh Rate with HDMI 2.1 remains unsupported in the Intel Linux driver, partly due to ongoing complications with the HDMI Forum.
