Intel has begun submitting Linux kernel patches to support their next-generation Data Streaming Accelerator (DSA) 3.0 hardware. The patches introduce foundational support by exposing hardware capability registers to userspace through the IDXD driver, enabling tools and applications to query DSA 3.0 features like supported SGL formats, floating-point options, and maximum sizes. The updates also enable automatic configuration of maximum SGL size for DSA 3.0 devices, allowing new opcodes like Gather Copy and Gather Reduce to function without additional user configuration.
