Cloudflare has introduced a groundbreaking cache purge system capable of invalidating cached content in under 150ms globally. This new system, named CacheDB, leverages RocksDB and is built in Rust, providing rapid and efficient purging by tags, hostnames, and URL prefixes. The initiative aims to enhance scalability and purge speed, significantly improving from their previous performance. Cloudflare will extend these capabilities to all plan types by early 2025.
