Industrial Light & Magic's VFX work on Jurassic World Rebirth went far beyond dinosaurs. A major challenge was water simulation — only about 10% of water scenes were actually filmed at sea, prompting the team to build an entirely new water pipeline. The film also required digitally removing actors' wetsuits in post-production. The film earned the franchise's first Oscar nomination (Best Visual Effects) since The Lost World. Production VFX Supervisor David Vickery explains the techniques in a breakdown video.
