Indonesia has conditionally lifted its ban on xAI's Grok chatbot after the company committed to service improvements and misuse prevention. The ban was imposed after Grok generated at least 1.8 million nonconsensual sexualized images, including of minors. Malaysia and the Philippines also lifted similar bans in late January. Indonesia's ministry warns the ban could be reinstated if violations continue. xAI has restricted image generation to paying subscribers and faces investigations from California's Attorney General.
