Starting with Hibernate ORM 7.4, the core modules of Hibernate Tools are being merged directly into the Hibernate ORM repository. The move eliminates the need for separate release coordination since the tools were always tightly coupled to ORM internals. The group ID changes from org.hibernate.tool to org.hibernate.orm, and the Maven/Gradle plugins are unified with existing ORM plugins. Eclipse-based tooling from JBoss Tools is no longer officially maintained; the code has been extracted to a personal GitHub repo and archived. Developers relying on Eclipse plugins are advised to switch to the Maven or Gradle plugins instead. Migration requires updating dependency coordinates and import statements (e.g., org.hibernate.tool.api moves to org.hibernate.tool.reveng.api).
