We are excited to announce the release of Hibernate Search 8.2.0.Final.



Compared to the 8.1 series, 8.2 brings compatibility with the latest Hibernate ORM 7.2,
Elasticsearch 9.2 and OpenSearch 3.2/3.3.
It also introduces the pluggable Elasticsearch backend clients.



Compared to the previously released 8.2.0.CR1, this version is almost identical,
and only adds a few changes to adapt to the newly released Hibernate ORM 7.2.0.Final.

Hibernate Search 8.2.0.Final has been released, bringing compatibility with Hibernate ORM 7.2, Elasticsearch 9.2, and OpenSearch 3.2/3.3. The headline new feature is pluggable Elasticsearch backend REST clients, allowing users to choose between Apache HTTP Client 4, Apache HTTP Client 5, the OpenSearch REST client, or the JDK's built-in HttpClient. Lucene backend is updated to 9.12.3 (with a lucene-next variant on 10.3.2). The release is a drop-in replacement for 8.1 with the caveat that Elasticsearch backend users must now explicitly declare their preferred REST client dependency.
