Hibernate Search 8.1.0.Final has been released. Key improvements over 8.0 include enhanced aggregation support — terms and range aggregations can now return values beyond counts (e.g., avg, min, max), and a new composite aggregation API is available. The release also introduces Hibernate Search Platform BOM files that manage versions of Hibernate Search artifacts along with their transitive dependencies (Hibernate ORM, Lucene extras, Elasticsearch client). Dependency upgrades include Hibernate ORM 7.1, Lucene 9.12.2 (and 10.2.2 for lucene-next), Elasticsearch 9.1/8.19, OpenSearch 3.1, Jackson 2.19.2, and AWS SDK 2.32.10. It is a drop-in replacement for 8.0.
