JetBrains is improving accessibility across its IDEs on the occasion of Global Accessibility Awareness Day. Key updates include better Windows Magnifier cursor tracking, upcoming Orca screen reader and GNOME Magnifier support on Linux in version 2026.2, more predictable keyboard navigation (Alt key for main menu on Windows, structured Tab/Shift+Tab navigation between IDE sections), and exploration of audio cues for non-visual feedback on errors, warnings, and breakpoints. These build on earlier work supporting VoiceOver, NVDA, high-contrast themes, and color schemes for color vision deficiency.
