Sounds good until data collection kicks in. The good thing about Linux is you own your computer instead of somebody else

Any OS can become immutable if you lock down system files and use automatic file system snapshots (e.g. with btrfs/zfs) whenever something changes them (like an update/install).
There are distros that make it slightly better/easier, but distros that come with btrfs and daily snapshots are “immutable” enough for most people.

I am using fedora silverblue on my private desktop and already got used so much that can not see using “traditional” os anymore like mac I have as a working computer
