DuckDB now supports querying Apache Iceberg REST Catalogs directly from a browser using DuckDB-Wasm, enabling serverless analytics without infrastructure setup. The implementation required redesigning HTTP interactions across the DuckDB codebase, implementing a JavaScript network wrapper for DuckDB-Wasm, and routing all Iceberg extension networking through a common interface. Users can read and write Iceberg tables, including Amazon S3 Tables, entirely within a browser tab with local computation and no data sent to DuckDB servers. A demo visualizer is available that accepts custom credentials and warehouse configurations.
