ICE deployed an AI recruitment screening tool that misclassified hundreds of applicants as having law enforcement experience based solely on the word "officer" appearing in their résumés. The system failed to distinguish between compliance officers, loan officers, and actual law enforcement officers, routing approximately 200 undertrained recruits into field positions with only four weeks of online training instead of the standard eight-week academy program covering immigration law, firearms, and physical fitness.
