Google had announced an international hiring freeze, which essentially halted all interview and job offer processes. The exact extent of the freeze and the regions it affected is unclear, with contradictory information available online. At the beginning of August, things didn’t change a lot.

I worked at Google for -10 days

This is highly unprofessional of them. I understand laying off people who may have worked for years already, but laying off someone you just hired before they even start yet?! Aren’t there any laws against this sort of thing? In the EU I suspect (hope) you could take them to court and win some sort of compensation.
In any case, a dev who can pass the tough interview process of companies like Google should have no trouble finding a job. Maybe not the ideal job in the beginning, but at least it will buy you some time and pay the bills.

It’s a shitty way to do things, but I’m not surprise. Maybe people will stop loving BIG tech and accept to work in normal company that are struggling to find good talent because they can’t offer all the BigT benefit.
For a BigT you are a good talent like all the other that applies, for a normal company you can be the super star and they will try to do their best for you.
