An Intel 8th Gen Core i5 8500 office PC with integrated UHD 630 graphics was repurposed as a retro gaming console using Batocera Linux. Without any dedicated GPU, the setup achieved smooth 30FPS in PS2-era titles including God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Persona 3 via PCSX2, and also handled GameCube, Wii, PSP, PS1, and Dreamcast emulation. PS3 emulation via RPCS3 at 1080p was not feasible. Lightweight Linux distros like Batocera provide a console-like frontend, making old office PCs viable retro gaming machines with minimal investment.
