A hands-on comparison of three AI app-building tools — Claude Code, Replit, and Lovable — using the same vague prompt to build a bank statement roasting app. Claude Code produced the most functional result, correctly parsing real CSV data and generating an interactive UI with spending graphs, though its design looked generic. Replit had the best-looking output but failed to work with real data. Lovable was the fastest and handled AI integration better than Replit, but also struggled with real CSV parsing initially. Claude Code requires a paid subscription, while Replit and Lovable offer free tiers for casual exploration.
