Switching the Proxmox VM display setting from the default to SPICE can dramatically improve virtual machine responsiveness. The default display option causes sluggishness, cursor trails, and high-resolution bugs on Linux VMs. SPICE resolves these issues without requiring a dedicated SPICE client for GUI access. For Windows remote gaming VMs, RDP or Sunshine+Moonlight setups are recommended instead.
