I stopped enabling BIOS 'gaming mode' when I found out what it actually does

BIOS 'Gaming Mode' features like MSI's 'Game Boost' are largely marketing fluff. Benchmarks using 3DMark Speed Way on an AMD Ryzen 7600X and RTX 4070 Ti-Super showed only a 66-point score difference and less than 1 FPS gain with the mode enabled. The feature essentially just applies a CPU overclock, which has minimal impact in modern GPU-dependent gaming. Undervolting both CPU and GPU is a more effective optimization strategy, yielding lower thermals and more sustained boost clocks without the downsides of running a permanent overclock.
