These days I like to keep my distribution the most standard as possible, I just stick with Fedora

Fun times, 2001-2006 in university. A lot of system programming was done on Sun Ultras in the computer lab or we could telnet into one of the machines. Luckily had cable modem/DSL available to me since 1997 so connecting to it never was an issue.
I still remember that I bought my first flash drive in 2002. It cost $1 a MEGABYTE at the time. Forgot the exact model I bought, but it was ~$250 for 256mb of flash.
