how is this better than using virtualbox or vmware or just WSL? I dont see much advantage.
Limited hardware support, no native GUI support, and sub par isolation compared to other solutions.

Did the same the other way arround running Windows on NixOS because only the first one has the app for Sky (streaming). So if I want to stream, I start the docker

I do this with my home lab server. The container has my home directory and both storage drives mounted as volumes, so I can just pull up the browser, go right into a code editor on a full up Ubuntu desktop and do what I need to do.
I don’t use it often, but it’s great to have when I need it.
