I’m glad to see a honest an kinda impartial review of the browser. I do also use Firefox. Not the fastest but I like everything else better. And the speed difference is not worth my data. I disagree with one point, chromium based browsers could become less popular if Google starts forcing more advertisements, which I think is their end game. We will see!

I followed the exact opposite path.
Was using Firefox at start, realized how much features it lacks, struggled with non working video decoding (despite being the pre-installed browser in Fedora Workstation).
So I moved to Brave, but if everything worked fine at first, I encountered many slowdowns (on a 2023 gaming PC!), some websites were telling me my version of chrome was outdated (!) and there were all this annoying crypto stuff.
So ultimately I switched to Chrome, which was better than EVERY other browser I tried on performance, UI/UX and features.
The two browsers I would like to give a try are Arc Browser and OperaGX, but none of them works on Linux.

My main browser is Brave… it even pays me for using it! Nothing beats that.
