I know we are still far from being truly replaced by AIs. But in my opinion, if AIs get to the point where they actually replace developers, this will be the biggest stupid thing the technology community has done, as they will have created their own demise.
Development is one of the few jobs accessible to middle/lower class people and we are on the path to ending it.
I find it funny that many developers don’t see that the only objective of these “developer” AIs is to make the labor of large companies cheaper and get rid of the problem of having to deal with people.

Devin can’t take our Jobs because he need our code to Learn, AI is going tô help us improve our ways to Learn and search information to improve our skills beyond CRUD and MVC.

At most I think it’s going to help increase indieprojects. A single experienced dev handling all development tasks. So maybe a new era of indieprojects boom, after the current SAAS ones.
